Jennifer van der Meer is a green activist and innovation strategist. Formerly a Wall Street Analyst, Jennifer has held executive management roles at Organic, Frog Design, and Fahrenheit 212, and has served as a consultant to companies such as GE, General Mills, MTV, Interface Inc., Disney, Chase, Victoria’s Secret, Nestle, Motorola, and Coca Cola. Jennifer works on the Toyota Heya project and other brand collaboration communities with Drillteam, is an Adjunct Professor teaching sustainable design at NYU ITP, and serves on the boards of o2NYC and the Designers Accord. Jennifer received her BA from Trinity College, and received her MBA from HEC in Paris.

Rebecca is a freelance graphic, product, and eco-designer based in Brooklyn, New York. For the past few years she has divided her time between designing for a myriad of companies and organizing environmentally focused projects and events. Rebecca is the past chair and the current vice-chair of o2-NYC, the New York City chapter of the o2 global network of eco-designers. During her tenure, she co-organized many events including Design:Green, CitySol, and most recently HauteGREEN. Rebecca¹s work, collaborations and events have appeared in publications such as Metropolis, Interior Design Magazine, Metropolitan Home, and most recently The London Observer. Rebecca received a BFA in Industrial Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2003, receiving a special award from the school for her commitment to environmental issues.
Than Hansen

Than is a New York City-based design consultant, specializing in sustainably designed furniture, lighting and home products. After graduating from college with a degree in international affairs, he gradually developed an interest in art, architecture and design, and went on to acquire an MS in Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute in 2000. Having seen firsthand the positive and negative aspects of the industrial design industry over the course of his academic coursework and work experience, Than is determined to make a long career of designing practical and sustainable products, and working within the realm of environmental advocacy. In his role within the leadership of o2NYC, he hopes to help the organization lead New York City to a more sustainable future. Prior to joining o2NYC, Than served as Secretary for the New York City Chapter of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) from 2003 to 2005, where he spearheaded numerous speaker series’ and professional development events for the benefit of the greater New York Industrial Design community.

By day, Rich is a freelance web programmer, who specializes in interactive web applications, multimedia, Flash and games. He has a BS in Computer Science from Union College and has developed software for his entire professional life thus far. Rich grew up in the suburbs of New York City, and lived on the west coast for 8 years before returning to New York in 2003. After coming up to speed on some of the more pressing environmental issues of our time, he has seen the urgent need for community and self-mobilizing networks of like minded individuals to begin tackling these challenges. In his spare time, he is an active contributor of code to the o2NYC website, and can be found at various events around the city, such as green-drinks, getting the word out about o2NYC and engaging in conversations with working pros about the current state of green design in New York. He also volunteers time for the popular CitySol and HauteGreen events. Rich strives to be a valuable member of the green community in New York in whatever capacity his services can be utilized- including writing PHP scripts, hanging spot-lights, and hauling recyclables to the curb.
o2NYC is accepting applications for interns to assist in the planning and production of a new project to exhibit and promote the green design sector of New York City. More specifically, they will be involved in the ongoing research and preparation of a comprehensive survey of the eco-design industry in New York City.
The ideal candidate would be a graduate or undergraduate student in Design Management, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field, and possess some interest in and knowledge of the principles of eco design. Ability to work independently and take initiative is a must. This is a part time, three month long commitment.
