Since April 1995, we have gathered each month in a different location around New York City for an evening's discussion and networking.

Sometimes we meet outdoors in the urban ecology, more often in a design studio. We talk about each other's projects and discuss collaborative opportunities and activities. We've had speakers from abroad, how-to demonstrations, parties and other events. People generally bring something to share -- food, drink, information, artifact, need. There are new people every month, and meetings vary from 15 to 40 people. Newcomers of every discipline are welcome and we are always in need of volunteer help and ideas for meetings. The mission of o2NYC is to foster environmental sustainability through design. o2NYC provides networking and information sharing opportunities for a growing community of creative professionals and students who:

• Embrace ecological issues as a challenging responsibility on both global and local levels
• Seek to educate and inspire people to integrate these considerations into their daily practices
• Foster cross-disciplinary collaborations
• Celebrate positive ideas and accomplishments

o2NYC is the New York City chapter of the o2 Global Net, an international eco-design association with active members worldwide (Note: "o2" stands for Oxygen: The letter "o", and number "2").
